Hand-picking of strawberries has started in Ramiyan in the northeastern Iranian province of Golestan in mid-April and goes on for two months. Producing 9,000 metric tons of strawberries, Golestan is the third largest producer of the fruit in Iran with first and second in the ranking being Kordestan, in the west, and Mazandaran in the north of the country.
